Stephenson Excited for Home Start

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Delon Stephenson led Rutgers with seven tackles in the 41-38 victory over Washington State. Stephenson was one of three safeties to start against WSU, and projects to hold his job as Rutgers returns to its base defense for Howard.

Rutgers sophomore Delon Stephenson started once at home last year, and will do it again Saturday against Howard. Moving from cornerback to safety in the offseason, Stephenson enjoyed a solid showing in the first game of the year.

Stephenson looks forward to a return home because his family and friends will be in attendance. He discussed what he learned from the challenge of the Washington State offense, and his excitement for teammate Johnathan Aiken and his Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award.
