Rutgers coach Kyle Flood is focused on going 1-0 against Howard this week. The Scarlet Knights concluded Thursday’s practice with Flood breaking it down after its conclusion.
The Headline -- Flood does not go into any game, even against an FCS opponent, planning to get special reps for his twos and threes. This weekend’s battle with Howard will be no different.
“I feel like it’s the same every week,” Flood said. “Whatever players play in the game play because they deserve to play in the game. That won’t be any different this week. As we start the game, it will be 0-0, and we’ll go from there. I don’t spend any time thinking about hypotheticals. Our focus is on the game, and on the first play.”
Flood added that he has no plans to work redshirt freshman Chris Laviano in at quarterback for the sake of in-game reps.
Worth Noting -- Freshman cornerback Dre Boggs will be back on the injury report this week, Flood said. Boggs was not on the injury report leading up to Washington State but was still limited because of health reasons.
Quote of the Day -- “One of the nice things about being a pro-style offense, you can really adapt your football team to the elements as you go through the year. … It’s still a couple of days out. I’m an optimist.” – Flood on an ugly weather forecast for Saturday.
Now sit back and take in Flood’s press conference.
