TENAFLY, N.J. -- The first commitment in the Rutgers class of 2015 -- Elmwood Park (N.J.) quarterback Micheal Dare -- was on top of his game in his final preseason scrimmage. Dare threw for three touchdowns in three quarters of action, and spoke after the game about his senior year and Rutgers getting to 1-0 against Washington State.
Kind of like his future head coach, Michael Dare is focused on being 1-0. Dare put up 170 yards and three touchdowns in a scrimmage victory against Tenafly, and now has his sights set on a 1-0 start to the season.
Dare was the first commitment in the 2015 class. Thursday evening, he faced off against the third in tight end Nakia Griffin of Tenafly.
The two are close off the field and active in recruiting other members to the class.
After the scrimmage, Dare broke it all down including his thoughts on Rutgers offensive coordinator Ralph Friedgen and excitement to see the home opener against Howard.
