James Jacked Up for Home Opener

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Running back Paul James picked up where he left off before his 2013 injury in returning for the home opener against Washington State. James is off to a hot start with 173 yards and three touchdowns. The momentum continues tomorrow with the home opener against Howard set for a noon kickoff.

Rutgers will see many young players make their debut tomorrow against Howard with the likely opportunity of working in second- and third-team players.

For star running back Paul James, that moment came two years ago during a blowout loss against Pittsburgh. James came in for the final drive of the game, and turned his minimal freshman playing time into a stellar offseason and breakout 2013.

James enters tomorrow's game with 173 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the season. Rainy weather is in the forecast for Saturday, which gives the Scarlet Knights a chance to work on the running game even more.
