Walk-on Verbitski Honored By Scout Team Role

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Walk-on Brian Verbitksi was all smiles during a press mob Tuesday and his first big interviews as a Rutgers football player. The third-year defensive back worked as the scout team quarterback Tuesday in hopes of preparing the defense for the Navy triple option.

Sophomore Brian Verbitski went from a Penn State cornerback to Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds during the transition to a new game week and chance at going 1-0.

A high school quarterback, though admittedly not a very good one through the air, Verbitski inherits a role that previously belonged to names like Logan Ryan and Wayne Warren.

Verbitski spoke about his path to Rutgers and all of the fun in preparing for a big role this week.
