Homecoming Showdown for Waters

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Safety Lorenzo Waters is ready for the first of two games in his home state when the Scarlet Knights head to Navy Saturday needing to bounce back from a heart-breaking loss to Penn State. Waters spoke 1-on-1 with ScarletReport.com about his role against the triple option.

The Naval Academy sits 45 miles away from Accokeek, Md. -- the hometown of Rutgers senior safety and captain Lorenzo Waters. Saturday marks the first time Waters plays a game in his home state since his time with Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha Catholic and one of two games at home as a Rutgers senior.

But Waters does not have the time to handle ticket requests because his role against Navy is critical to coming back to New Jersey with a victory. Waters is one of the primary weapons against the run in the Navy scheme.

It was in 2011 when Waters had his true Rutgers debut against Navy with mixed results. He improved against Army the following year and faces the triple option Saturday for the final time.
