Feed Me More: Peoples Earns His Shot

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Desmon Peoples is now set as a co-starter at running back after the injury to Paul James caused shakeups for Rutgers at the position. Unable to make an impact during his first two seasons, Peoples earned his first big time shot with a solid week of practice heading into kickoff tomorrow against Tulane.

Fumble problems as a true freshman stopped Desmon Peoples from seeing the field early at Rutgers. he saw limited action as a red-shirt freshman before an ugly pitch play against Houston set him back again.

The 5-foot-8 spark plug went to work in the spring as one of the most improved players on coach Kyle Flood's roster. The momentum only strengthened between training camp and strong showings in the first third of the season.

A co-starter at running back with Justin Goodwin, Peoples will hear his name called as a starter in pregame for the first time since winning a state championship at nearby Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood.
