PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers made history with its gutsy, emotional win, the first in the Big Ten and coach Kyle Flood and his plucky band of Scarlet Knights celebrated the moment with the adoring student boy on the field.

Rutgers made history with the first game in college football, and the did it again with a 26-24 win against the team with the second-oldest tradition in the FBS ranks.

And just like the first game in 1869 against Princeton, the Scarlet Knights were victors by two points as they won a Big Ten football game for the first time.
