Jacobs Looks to Build Off Michigan

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Davon Jacobs caught plenty of flack from teammates for keeping his knee down during his first career interception last week against Michigan. Jacobs emerged as a key face in the secondary with injuries elsewhere, and he discussed his role in the second half of the season during a bye-week interview with ScarletReport.com.

The teammates of Davon Jacobs will not let him live down his interception against Michigan. Jacobs, who went down to one knee on his interception, had plenty of space in front of him for a big return when called down by the referees.

Jacobs believes that next time, he'll just have to take it back for a touchdown.

The sophomore safety saw major action against both Navy and Michigan to help Rutgers get to a 5-1 start.

Jacobs used the bye week to slow things down and get back to basics. He also discussed playing with Kiy Hester in practice. The two have been friends dating back to Wayne (N.J.) DePaul, and Jacobs remained in touch with Hester after seeing him sign with Miami.
