Ashnault Ready to Go

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- South Plainfield (N.J.) super athlete Anthony Ashnault earned hundreds of accolades at the high school level, and it is time to do so at the next level. Ashnault sat out his true freshman year as a Rutgers wrestler and now, it's time to play the game.

After the initial attitude adjustment required to red-shirt, Anthony Ashnault has his sights set on championships as a Rutgers wrestler.

Ashnault was an astonishing 170-0 with four state championships in high school before choosing Rutgers over offers from almost every school in the country.

The 141-pounder embraced his red-shirt year, and enters the lineup this season. Ashnault was electrifying in summer tournaments, including a championship and victory over Northwestern's Jason Tsirtsis (2014 NCAA Champion at 149 pounds). Ashnault has eyes on a championship, and is not shy about sharing his high expectations for the Scarlet Knights led by eighth-year coach Scott Goodale.
