Two New Starters Solid in Exhibition Debuts

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Ready to replace J.J. Moore and Wally Judge as Rutgers basketball starters, both Bishop Daniels and Greg Lewis showed promise Saturday afternoon in the final tune-up before George Washington.

Bishop Daniels is thrilled to be back at the Division I level after transferring out of Miami and a pit-stop at Brooklyn (N.Y.) ASA Junior College. Daniels made noise immediately after enrollment at Rutgers because of his speed and slashing ability in the back-court.

Daniels showed out both aspects with 11 points and four rebounds on 4-of-6 shooting. He did so in just 16 minutes of action against Baruch College, but projects to see closer to 30 per game moving forward.

In the post, center Greg Lewis worked tirelessly on his comfort within the Rutgers offense. It showed Saturday with better ball skills and 11 points in the paint.

Both are projected starters for George Washington in seven games. With Kadeem Jack (thumb) questionable per coach Eddie Jordan, sophomore Kerwin Okoro started in his stead in the exhibition.
