Wednesday Practice Report: Consistency

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The final full practice before Indiana concluded Wednesday afternoon, and Rutgers football head coach met with the media afterwards to discuss preparations for the Hoosiers.

Rutgers and Indiana approach kickoff Saturday in what will be the final home game for the Scarlet Knight seniors and a chance to end a three-game losing streak.

The Headline -- Rutgers has three straight losses and a bye week going into Indiana, but the attitude remains the same in the eyes of coach Kyle Flood. Flood spoke about the work ethic and importance of consistency after Wednesday’s practice.

“Very spirited – I think they want to get back out there,” Flood said. “In general when you’re coming off a loss, you want to get back out there as quick as possible, to have the bye week, I think they’re really eager to get back out there at High Point Solutions Stadium.”

Worth Noting -- Defensive tackle Kenneth Kirksey told he is undecided on a fifth year. He received the waiver in the summer, but Saturday could be his final home game at Rutgers.

Quote of the Day -- “We have a great relationship. He’s been recruiting me since I was 15. He’s seen me at the camps when I was in high school to where I am now. I always try to make him proud. I know he cares tremendously about, not only myself, but for his players. I’m just trying to play the best for him.”
