Scout TV: Rutgers Commit Freddie Simmons

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Rutgers coach Kyle Flood added a huge piece to his recruiting class in November with the verbal commitment of three-star wide receiver Freddie Simmons. The day before a round two playoff battle, the Bethlehem (Pa.) Catholic standout receiver spoke with about his B1G commitment.

Freddie Simmons made Rutgers proud in the playoffs shortly after his verbal commitment. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound receiver caught nine passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns in a blowout round one victory over Leighton.

Simmons and Bethlehem (Pa.) Catholic return to the field Saturday night against Saucon Valley in the state quarterfinals.

Simmons picked Rutgers over more than a dozen FBS offers, and explained why he saw the Scarlet Knights as the best fit for his talents.
