Scout TV: Rutgers QB Gary Nova

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Quarterback Gary Nova is back in a groove and closer to 100 percent health after his late-October knee injury. The senior captain went turnover free in a 45-23 victory over Indiana, but faces a different level of challenge in the Michigan State defense.

The Michigan State defense carries plenty of respect from Rutgers, but the roster does not play on backing down from the challenge.

Take away the Ohio State loss on Nov. 8 and visitors average just 11.3 points per game at Spartan Stadium. Quarterback Gary Nova said after Tuesday's frigid practice that Rutgers is up to the challenge.

Nova set a school passing touchdown record earlier this year, and wants to help teammate Leonte Carroo do the same. Carroo is three receiving touchdowns short of the career record held by Tim Brown and two short of Marco Battaglia's season record.
