Martin Establishes Hot Hand

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Josh Hicks became the fourth starter at running back for Rutgers this season, but classmate Robert Martin took over as the feature back in a 45-3 loss to Michigan State. The Harrisburg, Pa., product ran for 4.2 yards per carry against the eighth best rush defense in the country.

Freshman running back Robert Martin paced a solid Rutgers rushing attack with 68 yards on 16 touches against Michigan State.

Martin and fellow freshman Josh Hicks led the rushing attack with both Paul James and Desmon Peoples in Piscataway with injuries.
