Rutgers Offers 2016 Florida CB Miller

Multiple Rutgers assistants stayed warm in the off week with recruiting trips to Florida. With a modern pipeline built into the Sunshine State, the Scarlet Knights issued more than a dozen offers this week including one to 2016 Kissimmee (Fla.) Gateway cornerback Henry Miller.

Without a visit to New Jersey, 2016 Kissimmee (Fla.) Gateway cornerback Henry Miller knows plenty about Rutgers.

The talented 6-foot-3 prospect and new Scarlet Knights offeree played with Rutgers defensive back Isaiah Wharton last season, and received plenty of information on the school today from defensive line coach Jim Panagos.

Miller’s Rutgers offer pushes him close to double digits with everyone still in play.

“It’s a blessing,” Miller said. “I got it from coach Panagos. He’s a very funny guy. He told me a lot. He told me about how Isaiah Wharton is doing and about the school.”

Miller played alongside Wharton during the 2013 season and remain friends off the field.

“We’re close,” Miller said. “He tells me a lot about Rutgers. He likes it there. … He told me it’s really cold.”

A 7-on-7 standout, Miller plays alongside Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips linebacker Jonathan Pollock – a Rutgers 2016 commit.

“Yeah, we’re friends,” Miller said. “He hasn’t talked to me about Rutgers yet, but I bet [he will]. … He’s a really cool guy. He’s really athletic at the linebacker position. That’s what I like.”

Other offers for Miller include Georgia Tech, Louisville Cincinnati and UCF. He named Michigan State and Florida State as other schools showing attention.

Miller has no visits planned and described himself as open in the recruiting process.

“I’m looking for a chance to make it at the next level and a place to be a better man,” Miller said. “ … Also [I want] a place that feels like home.”
