"Do it for Drew" Succeeds

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Get fifth-year senior Andrew Turzilli to his first bowl game. The rallying cry in the Rutgers locker room strengthened, and after a month's absence via leg injury, kicks off at Ford Field for the Quick Lane Bowl.

After all of the effort to get Andrew Turzilli to a bowl game, a leg injury on a should-be touchdown nearly stole his reward.

Turzilli apparently injured his hamstring on what would have been a touchdown pass from Gary Nova against Indiana. He missed four weeks of action, but returned Tuesday to practice.

The fifth-year graduate transfer from Kansas plays in his first and only bowl game next week against North Carolina. Players and coaches created the "do it for Drew" slogan for extra motivation, but Turzilli played his role as well.

The latest success story as a Rutgers fifth-year transfer, Turzilli caught three touchdowns with a long of 91 yards and stellar 31.3 yards per catch.
