Waters Honored for Stellar Bowl Game

The Associated Press named Rutgers senior Lorenzo Waters an all-bowl safety following his stellar individual performance Dec. 26 against North Carolina in the Detroit Quick Lane Bowl.

Fourteen tackles, two fumble recoveries and a blocked field goal make up a solid football game for most safeties. For Rutgers senior Lorenzo Waters, in his final college game, his individual performance landed him a spot on the AP All Bowl Team.

The list compiles the top performers at each position at the end of bowl season. Waters joins the likes of Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota, Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon and LSU running back Leonard Fournette on the list.

Waters began his future training after the conclusion of the Detroit Quick Lane Bowl, a 40-21 win over North Carolina from Ford Field.

Waters finishes his Rutgers career with 211 tackles, 14 TFLs, five forced fumbles, four sacks and three years as a starting safety.
