Clayton Commits to Rutgers

Paramus (N.J.) Catholic three-star safety Najee Clayton committed to Rutgers the day after his official visit. The seventh New Jersey commit in the Rutgers class, Clayton chose the Scarlet Knights over Pittsburgh and Syracuse.

Najee Clayton will play his college football at home, announcing Monday afternoon his verbal commitment to Rutgers.

The Paramus (N.J.) Catholic three-star safety verbally committed to Rutgers coach Kyle Flood 24 hours after he finished his official visit to campus.

Clayton announced his decision via Twitter. He picked Rutgers over Syracuse and Pittsburgh.

"Everyone is just a family,” Clayton said after his official visit. “That goes from the players to the teachers to everyone. It’s one big family that genially cares about you. That’s cool.”

Clayton is the first Paramus Catholic commitment for Rutgers since Marquise Wright. He joins Blessuan Austin, Alkadair Ports, Ronnie James and Jarius Adams in the committed 2015 secondary.
