Those remain Shutcak’s finalists heading into decision next week, and the scholarship offer from Rutgers does not lock him up in the Big Ten, he said.
“I really see it coming down to the coaches,” Shutack said. “I don’t care only about a [scholarship] offer.”
Shutack did not receive an offer at Tennessee this weekend, but said he got along well with the coaches.
“It was fun and I really liked it,” Shutack said. “I really liked it here, but I’m not going to make my decision until I get back and talk with my coach.”
Storms in the Chicago area project a Monday-afternoon return home for Shutack, who said Monday night is the earliest possible decision time frame.
“The coaches are most important for me,” Shutack said. “They’re both great coaching staffs, so that’s why they’re who I’m deciding between.”
Rutgers hosted Shutack last week, and head coach Kyle Flood came by for an in-home visit during the week.
“I liked Rutgers,” Shutack said. “I liked that it was close to New York, and I like the coaches there. They were great.”
