Four Scarlet Knights Are Super Bowl Champs

When the celebrations began for the New England Patriots, four more Scarlet Knights join the elite club of Super Bowl Champions. The 28-24 victory for the Patriots over the Seattle Seahawks mean former Rutgers players Devin McCourty, Tim Wright, Logan Ryan and Duron Harmon get championship rings.

Add an exciting Feb. 1, 2015 to Rutgers coach Kyle Flood's growing recruiting pitch.

Cornerback defensive backs Devin McCourty, Logan Ryan and Duron Harmon are Super Bowl Champions alongside wide receiver Tim Wright. Three of the four played under Flood as a head coach and all graduated from Rutgers before their Super Bowl victory in Arizona.

The Rutgers defensive backs combined for six tackles and two pass break ups in the game, but teammate Malcolm Butler stole the show in the secondary with his game-winning interception.

Coaching assistant Steve Belichick, who played long snapper for Greg Schiano in his final year at Rutgers, also gets a Super Bowl ring.

With a New England Patriots victory, eight former Scarlet Knights have Super Bowl Rings in the last nine years.
