Lewis Picks Rutgers

Kaiwan Lewis' senior year will be a homecoming for the South Carolina transfer. The graduate-transfer athlete verbally committed to Rutgers Monday morning after he returned from an official visit to campus.

For Rutgers, business is about to pick up at linebacker. Head coach Kyle Flood received a verbal commitment Monday from Kaiwan Lewis of South Carolina.

Lewis must graduate from South Carolina this spring before a training camp enrollment, and is immediately eligible as a senior for the Scarlet Knights.

Lewis' commitment adds his name to the upcoming middle linebacker battle against juniors Isaiah Johnson and L.J. Liston to replace Kevin Snyder.

Lewis joins a list of Rutgers graduate transfers that includes offensive lineman R.J. Dill, punter Nick Marsh, cornerback Lewis Toler and receiver Andrew Turzilli.
