Dubois Discusses Rutgers Junior Day

Wayne (N.J.) DePaul Catholic cornerback Hasise Dubois spoke with Scout about his Rutgers junior day visit and where the Scarlet Knights stand in his recruitment. With an early top five, which schools sit up top?

Wayne (N.J.) DePaul cornerback Hasise Dubois returned to the site of his first offer Saturday when Rutgers hosted many top 2016 targets for its junior day.

After he and five-star Kareem Walker received offers together on a Rutgers visit in 2013, Dubois said the Scarlet Knights remain in strong contention.

“I feel great about Rutgers,” he said. “They’re in my top five right now, so Rutgers has a great chance of getting me to play there and attend the university.”

Ohio State, Virginia, Kentucky and Pittsburgh round out Dubois top five. His most recent visit to Rutgers was much different than his first as Dubois now approaches double-digit offers.

“It’s crazy to think about,” he said. “School on top of school is coming to see us, and it’s about making the right decision and not the wrong one.”

Rutgers hosted many New Jersey targets with the “stay home” message coming out strong Saturday.

“A bunch of the 2016 top recruits for Rutgers all came down, and we just bonded and learned a lot [yesterday],” Dubois said. “We talk about staying home. We’re all trying to see who’s going to stay and who’s not and we’re thinking about building something big here. Rutgers is always talking to us about that.”

Dubois spent time with Rutgers safety Kiy Hester, Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic receiver Gene Coleman, Monmouth Junction (N.J.) South Brunswick athlete Mohamed Jabbie and others.

“Mo’s my bro,” Dubois said on Jabbie, who is a Rutgers commit. “We’ve been in contact a lot, so he’s a good guy, good player.”
