PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Chris Laviano went from backup to first-team quarterback Monday in his first official spring practice of what will be an intense position battle. Laviano played sparingly behind Gary Nova as a red-shirt freshman. He now goes head-to-head with Hayden Rettig for the 2015 starting job, and broke it down with Scout including thoughts on another offensive coordinator change.
Chris Laviano has his third offensive coordinator in as many years since college enrollment. This time, the Long Island quarterback works side-by-side with coordinator Ben McDaniels as the Scarlet Knights search for Gary Nova's replacement.
Laviano officially practiced for the first time since Nova's departure Monday, and broke it all down with Scout.
