Burton is Detroit Bound

With the 168th pick in the 2015 NFL draft, the Detroit Lions selected Rutgers fullback Michael Burton. Burton became the second Rutgers draft pick in as many days, and heads to the site of his 2014 Quick Lane Bowl victory and final college game.

Recruiting is about relationships, and that is not exclusive to the high school level.

For Rutgers fullback Michael Burton, the NFL journey begins with the Detroit Lions where his former offensive coordinator Ron Prince works as associate head coach. Prince helped develop Burton into an offensive threat at Rutgers, and the former team captain joins his old coordinator.

Burton heard his name called with the 168th pick in draft -- a fifth round selection -- and returns to Ford Field, where he played his final college game as a Scarlet Knight.

Burton's selection makes two Rutgers players in the 2015 draft, as he joins tight end Tyler Kroft.
