Wright Targets Summer Visits Before Decision

West Hartford (Conn.) Kingswood-Oxford three-star receiver Isaiah Wright wants to take multiple visits and attend at least two camps before he makes a commitment. He spoke with Scout about his intended camp spots and possible summer visits.

West Hartford (Conn.) Kingswood-Oxford three-star receiver Isaiah Wright has plenty of research left before he makes a final decision in recruiting.

Wright wants to camp twice in June, and finish off visits this summer before a pre-season decision. The first stop will be Maryland with Rutgers likely next in line.

“I still haven’t come to a decision or a time,” Wright said. “As of now, I’m still planning that you. I’m going Maryland’s camp soon, and I will probably be attending the Rutgers camp as well. On visits, I should know where else I’m going any day now. I’m going to take those visits in the summer time.”

Wright would also like to visit both Ohio State and Wisconsin before a decision with the Badgers as one of his newest offers.

“Right now, it’s pretty cool,” Wright said. “I like a lot about Wisconsin. They came out to the school. They talked to me. It’s always good when you have people come see you in person because it shows that the interest they have in you is real.”

Both Rutgers and Maryland hosted Wright on unofficial visits during the spring.

“Me and Rutgers, everybody is good,” Wright said. “There are some good people there. When I make my decision, that is something I’ll look at. I had a good time on my last visit there during their spring practice.”

The Under Armour connection at Maryland also caught Wright’s eye.

“I learned about how Under Armour is down there and that’s pretty unique,” Wright said. “They have programs where, as a student, you can go and pitch ideas for new jerseys and stuff. I liked their campus. It’s nice, and it’s about 30 minutes from DC and 30 minutes from Baltimore, so that’s another plus.”

Maryland and Rutgers recently added two of the top quarterbacks in the east region with commitments from Dwayne Haskins (second) and Anthony Russo (seventh) respectively.

“To be honest, I don’t really think about that but it’s a plus in the end,” Wright said. “I’m making my decision based on where I’m most comfortable and where I fit the best. As a player coming there, I guess it would add to the significance.”
