Kickoff Time Set for Season Opener

Rutgers has a kickoff time set for its 2015 season opener against Norfolk State, and also announced a 3:30 p.m. kick for the highly-anticipated rematch with Washington State.

And the official countdown to 2015 Rutgers football begins.

Rutgers kicks off its 2015 season Sept. 5 at noon against Norfolk State, with the time announced Friday morning by the school.

Rutgers also announced a 3:30 p.m. kickoff time for the most anticipated non-conference game of the season – a Sept. 12 rematch against Washington State.

The Scarlet Knights face Norfolk State, the lone FCS opponent on the schedule, for the first time since a 38-0 shutout in 2013. The victory came compliments of three touchdowns from Paul James, who likely returns from ACL surgery against Norfolk State this season.

Washington State comes to Piscataway for the first time for its 3:30 p.m. kickoff. The Scarlet Knights upended the Cougars 41-38 at CenturyLink Field in the 2014 opener.

Rutgers’ other non-conference games both kick off at noon – Sept. 26 against Kansas and Nov. 21 at Army.
