Rutgers OL Anchor Set for Senior Year

CHICAGO -- Rutgers left tackle Keith Lumpkin got his well-deserved week in the spotlight while at Big Ten Media Day. The under-appreciated offensive lineman spoke 1-on-1 with Scout about everything trench warfare, including a new starting center and the development of his successor.

As a long-time offensive line coach himself, Rutgers' Kyle Flood is all about the big guys.

Flood chose left tackle Keith Lumpkin as one of his three Big Ten Media Day representatives, and the fifth-year senior enjoy his time in the spotlight.

Lumpkin spoke 1-on-1 with Scout Friday on a variety of topics.

The big man explained his reasons for a senior-year return in lieu of NFL opportunities. Lumkpin also discussed the development of Marcus Applefield and Zack Heeman as his successor at left tackle.
