Rutgers commit Solomon Manning makes debut at middle linebacker

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. -- Rutgers commit Solomon Manning and Colonia exploded onto the scene Friday in a 32-18 victory to start the season. Manning played his first game since a move to middle linebacker, and spoke with Scout about the growing pains and today's upcoming Rutgers visit.

Thirteen tackles, an interception and a blocked extra point did not satisfy Colonia's Solomon Manning in his first game as a middle linebacker. Manning considers himself a perfectionist as the captain of his defense, and said there is still a lot to learn about his new position.

Fresh off athe victory against Bishop Ahr, Manning returns to Rutgers Saturday on an unofficial visit for the game against Washington State. Manning visited last week in the victory over Norfolk State and remains firm in his pledge to the Scarlet Knights and head coach Kyle Flood.
