Rutgers Captain Leonte Carroo Explosive in Rutgers Return

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Everyone from Gary Nova to Plaxico Burress had compliments and praise for Leonte Carroo upon his return to the Rutgers roster. After a three-week absence, the team captain was back in a big way with all three Scarlet Knight touchdowns in Saturday's loss to Michigan State.

Leonte Carroo picked up where he left off before a suspension with three touchhdowns and another 100-yard game in the loss to Michigan State. Carroo, who caught three touchdowns for the fourth time in his career, built upon his school record in career scores.

"“I was very excited to get out there and play today for my team," Carroo said. "It was unfortunate that we lost, but I was just very excited all day. I had a lot of momentum coming into this game. I was excited to be back out there with my teammates and I was going to do anything I could to perform at a high level for them.”

He caught all three touchdown passes from Laviano, but could not come down with what would have been a go-ahead score in the fourth quarter.

"It’s a football game," Carroo said. "I made a bunch of great plays tonight and he made his great play. He did a good job playing it and he deflected the pass.”
