Rutgers receiver Leonte Carroo looks forward to his first road game of 2015, and expects it to be a strong one after the confidence built in a near-upset bid against No. 4 Michigan State.
Carroo caught three more touchdowns against the Spartans in what was a seven-point loss at High Point Solutions Stadium. He raised his career record to 25 scores.
"We're very confident," Carroo said. "We're very excited. I hear guys in the locker room saying they can't wait to get out there for practice tomorrow, so we're just ready to go. That game is behind us now and we're just focused on being 1-0 versus Indiana and going out to play them. They're a very good football team."
Carroo replaced Carlton Agudosi at the X receiver position.
Agudosi played a solid three-game stretch with Carroo, including his first career touchdown, and his progress and attitude as a team player impressed his team captain.
"A lot of respect, he's one of my great friends," Carroo said. "Even when I was out, I talked to him. He handled it very well. He played very hard. He helped his team win games. He scored his first career touchdown. I told him I was very proud of him. Even when I came back, he texted me numerous times. Hey do you need help with anything? When I got back, he helped me as fast as I can with the playbook and helped me get back on track. He was one of my biggest supports, so I respect him a lot."
