Safety Davon Jacobs Set for Rutgers Return after Two-Game Injury Absence

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers coach Kyle Flood updated safety Davon Jacobs to probable after the junior missed two games with an unspecified upper body injury. Scarlet Report spoke with Jacobs about his missed time, and the significant Saturday battle against Indiana.

Safety Davon Jacobs is three practices back from an upper body injury and likely returns to the Rutgers defensive secondary Saturday in a key swing game against Indiana. Jacobs missed two gamees because of injury, and projects to split time with red-shirt freshman Kiy Hester at strong safety against the Hoosiers.

"It feels good to be out there, definitely [after] missing a couple of weeks, so I'm excited to get back out there," Jacobs said on his return this week to the practice field.

Jacobs sat out the last two games in favor of Hester, who emerged as a playmaker at the position. Former high school teammates, Jacobs said he is proud of Hester's progress at the position.

"He had a pick last week and I'm very proud of him," Jacobs said. "He did his thing out there."
