Rutgers NT Kevin Wilkins Breaks Down Big Man INT against Nebraska

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Red-shirt freshman nose tackle Kevin Wilkins sparked Rutgers with an intercepted screen pass against Nebraska. The 300-pounder discussed his first caught pass since middle school and being in the right position to make the play.

Defensive tackle Kevin Wilkins knew what to do before the snap and gave Rutgers its biggest momentum swing of a 31-14 loss to Nebraska. The big man intercepted a pass at midfield, and his return set up Janarion Grant's trick-play touchdown pass to cut the deficit to seven points.

"We were kind of just preparing for it all week," Wilkins said. "I read it well and the ball just came to me and I ended up catching it. It's nothing more than that. It's something that we were preparing for. We knew they were going to run a lot of screens, and I think after practicing it and repping it a lot, I just ended up in the right place at the right time."
