Rutgers Can Embrace Situation By Building Depth

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Lack of depth became a clear issue for Rutgers this season, but the 3-7 Scarlet Knights have an opportunity to fix that and build for the future. With players like Deonte Roberts, Jon Bateky, Najee Clayton and Dontae Owens already in the mix, Scarlet Report looks at how to build depth in games against Army and Maryland.

When asked about the chance to groom younger players against Army and Maryland, Rutgers coach Kyle Flood kept the focus on winning with his starters.

"In terms of going out of our normal rotations, no," Flood said. "We are going to do everything we can this week to be 1-0 and that's the most important thing for us and that's how we'll make all the decisions."

Will Rutgers make significant personnel changes? No. But at seven losses, the Scarlet Knights have an opportunity to work its backups into the rotation. Scout's Sam Hellman and Brian Dohn discuss.
