Goode Start: Freshman G Talks first Two Rutgers Games

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- After a semester in the cage as a red-shirt, guard Justin Goode could not wait to take the court for Rutgers. Goode debuted last week with 25 minutes per game off the bench, and discussed his first two games with Scarlet Report.

Red-shirt freshman Justin Goode logged a team-high 30 minutes with nine points in his debut against Rutgers-Newarl. Goode followed it up with another seven points and two assists off the bench against Howard.

Goode is second on the roster in minutes behind starter Mike Williams heading into tonight's clash with St. John's.

"I didn’t really know what to expect," Goode said. "I just wanted to come in and do my part and give the team what I could. … I play solid defense, move the ball around, hit shots when I’m open."

Goode enrolled at Rutgers early and red-shirted last season.

"It was really exciting to get to be out on the floor and not just watching," Goode said. "You get to contribute to two good wins."
