Coach Chris Ash made his vision of the Rutgers offense clear in his first days on the job, and 28-year old Drew Mehringer became the man for the job. Ash confirmed the hire of Houston's first-year wide receivers coach Sunday to Sports Illustrated.
Mehringer has play-calling and quarterback experience at James Madison but rose to prominance as a two-year graduate assistant at Ohio State. Mehringer worked as a protege for Tom Herman at Houston. He also served as the school's recruiting coordinator with the No. 32 overall class in the country and best in the American Athletic Conference.null
