Scout TV: One Week Down for Chris Ash at Rutgers

The first week for coach Chris Ash included as much time at Ohio State as it did Rutgers but the new leader of the Scarlet Knights acted decisively in many choices. Scout's Brian Dohn and Sam Hellman look at Ash's first week, including the decision to stay with Ohio State for the bowl game and early staff changes.

The first week for Rutgers coach Chris Ash included the start of a staff overhaul and an active start to recruiting. Ash hired two of his three coordinators in Vince Okruch (special teams) and Drew Mehringer (offense) and began a house-cleaning of the former Rutgers staff.

In recruiting, Ash saw de-commitments from Phil Campbell and Ahmed Bah. He was as active as possible on the recruiting trail with in-person visits to see linebacker Solomon Manninglinebacker Jonathan Pollock and running back Trey Sneed. All three finalized early enrollment plans after in-person visits.

Scout's Brian Dohn and Sam Hellman examine details of Ash's first week and what needs to happen next.
