Scarlet Report TV: Rutgers Coach Chris Ash Zones in on New Jersey Prospects

The dead period includes plenty of phone calls between Rutgers coach Chris Ash and key targets within New Jersey's border. Scout national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn and Scarlet Report publisher Sam Hellman discuss realistic local targets, including talent at the skill positions.

Rutgers coach Chris Ash returned to New Jersey this week as both a program builder and recruiter. The 2015 Ohio State defensive coordinator continues staff assembly at Rutgers with more moves on the offensive side of the ball but he is equally active on the phones.

Ash holds 13 verbal commitments in his Rutgers recruiting class. He spent the last two weeks in contact with many prospects, including renewed interest in local prospects exploring options. Ash and his coaching staff contacted multiple New Jersey de-commitments quickly, including wide receivers Kelvin Harmon (Palmyra) and K.J. Gray (St. Peter's Prep).

Scout's Brian Dohn and Sam Hellman examine realistic targets for Ash and projected January official visitors out of the Garden State.
