Chris Ash Announces Zak Kuhr as Rutgers WR Coach

Rutgers coach Chris Ash finalized another staff position on the offensive side of the ball in Zak Kuhr from James Madison. Kuhr takes over as wide receivers coach after he worked 2015 as a co-offensive coordinator for the Dukes.

The trend continues for Chris Ash, who announced another young name to his offensive coaching staff in Zak Kuhr. The hire represents Ash's third on the offensive side of the ball alongside coordinator Drew Mehringer and offensive line coach A.J. Blazek.

"I am excited to welcome Zak to Rutgers football,” Ash said in a statement. “His knowledge and understanding of our offense will be important in the teaching and development of our wide receivers.  He is also from the Urban Meyer coaching tree and understands our program structure and our expectations.”

Kuhr brings more Florida ties to the staff in addition to a year at James Madison with Mehringer and two years as an intern with Ohio State alongside Ash and Urban Meyer. Kuhr coached running backs for JMU this season in addition to his co-offensive coordinator role.

Ash also has his special teams coordinator in place with Vince Okruch and the search for defensive assistants is unlikely to conclude before a coordinator joins the staff.

Kuhr replaces Anthony Campanile as the Rutgers wide receivers coach.
