Recruiting to Heat Up for OL Liam Fornadel of Don Bosco Prep

RAMSEY, N.J. -- Offensive lineman Liam Fornadel can expect a busy spring in recruiting after a state championship and a half-dozen scholarship offers as an underclassman at Don Bosco Prep. Fornadel spoke with Scout about his recruitment, and an early in-state offer from Rutgers.

Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep offensive lineman Liam Fornadel does not expect to be under the radar for long when dozens of schools visit him in the upcoming spring evaluation period.

The 6-foot-4, 295-pound guard got his first surge in recruiting with an offer list that includes Rutgers and San Diego State. The Scarlet Knights were his first offer, and recently hosted him at a junior day event with other top local underclassmen.

"With recruiting, [Rutgers] is just trying to bring all of the talent from New Jersey to one place," Fornadel said on new coach Chris Ash. "That's their main goal. When they do that, they want to make them into tough, competitive athletes that are willing to do whatever it takes to win. I think their mindset is just to win."

Boston College and Syracuse are among other schools close to an offer for the prospective engineering major. Fornadel spoke this week with Scout about his offseason development and the transition into his senior season.
