Wide Receiver Commit Everett Wormley Puts on for Rutgers at Opening Regional Event

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Burlington (N.J.) three-star receiver Everett Wormley offered an interesting comparison for fellow Rutgers commit Johnathan Lewis and a message to other prospects during a 1-on-1 interview with Scarlet Report.

Burlington (N.J.) WR Everett Wormley on the growth of the Rutgers recruiting class...

"Watching the recruiting class at Rutgers grow has been great. We're getting everybody on board in the state. We just got our QB of the future in Johnathan Lewis. The fact that everybody is recognizing that Rutgers is the place to be is great. Now we're trying to get guys like Markquese BellFred HansardDalyn Wade-PerryEddie Lewis on board."

On Johnathan Lewis commitment...

"It's great. I told my dad about him and I referred to him as Baby Cam Newton. That's what he is. He's just a big guy with a cannon of an arm, he can get out of the pocket and scramble and make stuff happen. Definitely."

On building relationships...

"I've been hanging out with Bryce Watts, and I've talked to John. It's definitely great. Hopefully I can see Micah [Clark], Jamaal [Beaty] and Bo [Melton] later on. It's been good, and we're just out here trying to do our job."

Message to other recruits...

"The fact that all of the top guys so far, most of them are choosing Rutgers, that alone speaks volumes. It's close to home. It's Big Ten, you play schools like Michigan, Ohio State, guys get excited about that."

On receiver coach Jafar Williams...

"I love coach Williams. Coach Williams is an awesome wide receivers coach. He has a lot of knowledge of the league. He's very laid back. He's a young guy just like us that you can relate to very well. That's something that I look forward to being around every day."

On Rutgers offense...

"I think that if you get the right players in it, this will be a perfect offense. You have guys like me and Bo on the perimeter, guys like John Lewis at quarterback, that power spread, we can definitely do something with that."
