There were some noted attendees at Rutgers last public scrimmage.
Mike Ziarnowski was Rutgers first verbal of the year. Mike was at the game to take in the action. Last year Mike had 73 tackles, seven sacks, 13 tackles for losses, 1 fumble recovery, 8-10 pass knockdowns. He is looking forward to big things this season from his Immaculata team, a team he says has a lot of speed and athleticism this season.
Plainfield High is loaded this season with players being recruited for Div 1A football. From right to left. Phil Anderson, James Williams (junior), Rob Crudup, Steve Council, Dan Davis, Eugene Monroe (junior) and George Harbison.
Gene Monroe will only be a junior this fall but is a legit 6-5, 320. The Sporting News has tabbed him as the top prospect in Jersey's class of 2005.
Dan Davis told me after the picture session that he still hasn't set up his official visits. He has offers from Rutgers, Nebraska, Georgia, Virginia and Maryland.
A good game to watch this season will be Plainfield's game against J. P. Stevens. The folks above will be battling Rutgers recruit Anthony Miller and recruiting prospect Jeremy Zuttah.
