Rutgers Receivers Attempt to Bounce Back, Senior Andre Patton Breaks it Down

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Everything from nutrition to football struggles, Rutgers senior Andre Patton discusses the latest after today's practice.

Senior receiver Andre Patton on this week's practices...

The main focus was just to come out here and keep working hard. Because we had the past two games that we had, we can't come out the following week and put our heads down and mope all over the place because that's not going to help us. We look at it as, we played our first six games, we've got our last six games of the season. It's a new season. We'll still go as hard as we've been. Just practice hard and keep doing our jobs to the best of our abilities.”

On main area of improvement for the offense...

Everyone needs to just lock into their job and play with details. Details. Right now, I think we just need to go back to our fundamentals and play with our fundamentals. Play with our hands. Good blocking. Good route running. Just do the fundamental things. Just go out and compete every day. I think that will help us in the long run.”

On team spirits...

You don't want people's spirits to be down because we still have another game this weekend. That's what we need to come out and prepare for. As long as our preparation is right and everyone's spirits are right, we're going 100 miles an hour, then it's going to pay off Saturday.”

On Illinois game film...

I see that they've got a good team. They've got some good players. They have some good coaches over there that put their players in good position. … Right now this week, what we see on film is what we're going to try to get our scout-team guys to play out here.”
