Rutgers Expected to Add Jerry Kill as Offensive Coordinator

Scarlet Report has the latest on the ongoing offensive coordinator search at Rutgers.

The Rutgers offense is about to get a lot more experienced. Head coach Chris Ash is expected to replace the departing Drew Mehringer with former Minnesota head coach Jerry Kill, sources said.

Sources spoke anonymously because they are not authorized to speak on the subject.

Kill's hire is not complete but is expected within 24 hours upon finalized details.

No offensive coordinator lasted more than one season with Rutgers dating back to Kirk Ciarrocca in 2009-10. Kill would join the Rutgers staff after a brief stint as a football adviser at Kansas State. He retired midseason with Minnesota last year for health reasons.

Kill is the 2014 Big Ten Coach of the Year with more than 20 years of head-coaching experience.
