First Touchdown Club General membership Meeting of Season
The first General Membership meeting of the season for the Rutgers Touchdown Club will be held on September 4th. Come out and hear Coach Schiano review the opening game, as well as meet and mingle with your fellow Rutgers fans. Non-members can join at the meeting and become part of the fun. The meeting will be held on the 3rd Floor of the Hale Center. Doors open at 5:30 PM. The meeting will start at approximately 6:45PM. Touchdown Club - Tailgate
The Rutgers Touchdown Club will be holding its first ever Tailgate Party on September 6, 2003 for the Michigan State Game. The tailgate will be at Shula's II Steakhouse beginning at 3:00 pm. Shula's is conveniently located by Newark Airport between Exits 13A and 14 off the New Jersey Turnpike. Come join the tailgate, as fellow Touchdown Club Members, former Scarlet Knight Players, and Rutgers Fans of all ages from the Metropolitan Area help cheer the Scarlet Knights on to victory over MSU. This event is free for Touchdown Club Members and will include food, prizes and raffles that will complement a great game and atmosphere. Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are not included. Touchdown Club members, please bring your 2003 membership card or other form of ID. Non members can join the fun for a nominal fee of $5.00. This money goes directly to the Touchdown Club and can be applied to a Touchdown Club Membership application filled out at the event. Rutgers football coach Greg Schiano and his staff celebrated Saturday night's 24-10 win over Buffalo for exactly seven hours. They were out the door by midnight and back planning for Michigan State by 7 a.m.

Brian Duffy, a senior left guard, was scheduled to have an MRI performed yesterday afternoon to determine the condition of his injured right knee. Duffy missed the second half of the 2002 season after damaging the same joint.

Rutgers coach Greg Schiano returned to his office at the Hale Center yesterday morning, a mere seven hours after his team claimed a 24-10 victory over Buffalo. As always, Schiano and his staff began breaking down tape of their next opponent, Michigan State, but yesterday there was a little more spring to the coaches' steps.

At halftime of the season-opening Rutgers-Buffalo game on Sat., Aug., 30, legendary high school football coach Donald Smolyn of Lenape Valley Regional High School in Randolph received the fifth annual John Bateman "Winners for Life" Award, named after former Rutgers head football coach Dr. John F. Bateman.

The Rutgers women's soccer team earned its second consecutive victory, defeating Stony Brook 3-0 yesterday as junior all-American Carli Lloyd quickly got the Scarlet Knights on the scoreboard, taking a pass from freshman Jaime Komar and shooting into the upper-right corner in the 12th minute.
