Memphis (Tenn.) Trezevant three-star defensive end TiJaun Mason has a top two with official visits set for both schools in January.
On New Year's Eve, Mason named Rutgers and Toledo has his top two schools after he parted ways with Purdue earlier this month.
“I might make my decisions right after my official [visits],” Mason said.
Rutgers hosts Mason first with a visit locked in for the weekend of Jan. 20.
“[Defensive line] coach Shane Burnham, he told me I could come in and play right away,” said Mason, who has not yet spoken with head coach Chris Ash. “He showed me the depth chart, and they have some guys, but they need more guys who can bring a pass rush .But anywhere I go, I know I'm going to have some competition.”
Toledo's primary contact with Mason is through director of high school relations Ricky Ciccone. Head coach Jason Candle visited for Mason's playoff game.
“It means a lot because [Candle] was the only coach that did that,” Mason said. “... Coach calls me every day. He checks up on me to make sure my family is straight, my mother is straight. He's trying to get me up there.”
