Rutgers, Boston College Reignite Regional Rivalry, Expand to Four-Game Series

Rutgers and Boston College beef up their upcoming non-conference battles with two addition games to the schedule. It begins in 2019 when the Eagles visit the Scarlet Knights at High Point Solutions Stadium.

Rutgers coach Chris Ash welcomes regional competition, and the latest scheduling agreement gives him exactly that. With a home-and-home already in place with Boston College, the schools jointly announced a third and fourth game to the deal that starts in 2019.

The series now begins at High Point Solutions Stadium on Sept. 21, 2019, which replaces a previous deal with Miami. Rutgers travels to Boston College in 2022 in addition to the already-scheduled games in 2026 and 2027.

The switch from Miami to Boston College gives Rutgers a more regional clash against a school that recruits the same area.

Rutgers and Boston College faced off 26 times dating back to 1919. The two teams last met in 2004 as members of the Big East. The Eagles hold a 19-6-1 edge in the all-time series.
