SIGNED: West Orange Linebacker CJ Onyechi is a Scarlet Knight

West Orange (N.J.) linebacker C.J. Onyechi is a Rutgers Scarlet Knight after he signed a National Letter of Intent.

Projected Position – Outside Linebacker

In His Words – “In a school, my parents are looking for a balance of academics and football. They were happy to see Rutgers just wasn't a football school. They had academics behind it and they would make me into a better person.”

Scouting the Scarlet Knight – “Onyechi is built to play outside linebacker, and he spends a lot of time in high school blitzing. He has a good burst and he can play physical, but he not a hard hitter. Instead, he is a form tackler with good techinque. He has the speed to chase a play down from behind, and he is quick with his hands to disengage from a block and locate the ball carrier. Onyechi changes direction well and he has good body control. He will have to get stronger to work inside the tackle box in college, and he does not do a lot of coverage at the high school level.” – Scout National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn
