SIGNED: Archbishop Wood Running Back Raheem Blackshear is a Scarlet Knight

Rutgers hit a Signing Day splash in Pennsylvania with the commitment of Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood running back Raheem Blackshear. Blackshear formally announced for Rutgers Wednesday afternoon over Temple.

Projected Position – Running Back

In His Words – “[Coach Chris Ash] told me he was impressed with my senior highlight tape and then he offered me. I was very excited. I like how they spread the ball out. I like that they're in a big position being in the Big Ten as an up and coming program. I like a lot of them.”

Scouting the Scarlet Knight – “Having seen him play twice during his senior season, his quickness through the hole and his ability to accelerate off one cut really stood out.

In 10 to 15 yards, he was slippery and elusive, and his change of direction made him a nightmare for defensive players to tackle. He does not have the high top-end speed, but he does have the ability to add yards after contact.” – Scout National Recruiting Analyst Brian Dohn.
