Dimitri Linton, 5-10, 195, 4.33, RB, WR, Northeast HS, Oakland Park (Fl)
What made you choose Rutgers at this time?
"My mom and I looked at things and decided to make the decision. My decision was mostly based on the fact that they are a top academic school."
I get the feeling that your mom really liked Rutgers?
"She did, but it is my decision. She told me that she will support my decision and going to Rutgers is my decision."
Will you still take other visits?
"I'll probably still take visits. However, I am really interested in Rutgers and I don't think I'll change my mind but I'll probably take other visits to satisfy myself.
Have the staff at Rutgers told you about how they plan to use you?
"They plan to play me at running back. There are three or four guys at the position and I don't know how that will work out. But I am hoping that I will go up there and that will work out and I'll become the main guy."
I had heard that Florida State was starting to get involved with you?
"They are involved but they haven't been as involved as Rutgers. There is a friendship with the coaches at Rutgers."
What do you say to people who say that you are too small for Div 1A?
"I would just show them, there is nothing you can do to change anyone's mind. You just show them on the field."
Last year Linton was the first running back at Northeast since 1983 to run for over a thousand yards. He also had 17 touchdowns. He has a GPA of 4.18. That is on a scale of 4.0 but his average into account the fact that he takes honors courses.
He has come out "on fire" this year in Broward County. Going into this week's games he was the leading rusher in talent rich Broward and had scored an incredible 13 touchdowns in only four games.
